i'm just a drummer. i'm just a rider. i love dogs. i love the greatest japanese rock band SPITZ!

my second daughter's korean boyfriend stayed at our home for about a week, and left for korea today. we treated him as a member of our family, and he enjoyed staying with us, especially having a precious time with my daughter.
today we drove him to the airport, had meal together, reluctantly parted, and saw him off, till he disappeared into the gate. it was hard to see my daughter trying to be cheerful after he left.
he doesn't communicate in japanese nor do we in korean, so we talk all the way in english, pseudo english. he really is a good guy, cherishes my daughter very much, and calls us "mom and dad". they seem thinking of international marriage some day, but now he doesn't seem he has enough living basics and she is still a student. so they need a few more years to think about their future partnership, or ... i don't know. it's all up to them.
it is the fact that there are many kinds of international problems between korea and japan. we must admit there was a heavy history between us. there seem to be some kind of misunderstanding or even hatred down to the grass-root level. some people even seem enjoying bashing each other. that really hurts me, hurts us.
but i think it is we the grass-root level citizens that can solve these problems and turn hatred into friendship. though the international situation is still unstable, i do hope the personal level of friendship and partnership will make the world more peaceful.
